Your Voice - Your Choice Contest: Conference - Global Summit
Young Leaders Global Summit
Once the contest concludes at the end of March 2009, the highest rated videos will be put in front of a panel of judges and expert mentors, who will then choose winners from each of the 5 categories.
The winners will be announced at a special event to be held on April 22nd 2009 (Earth Day) at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Vegas, NV.
These elected youth will become part of the first annual Young Leaders Council. Therefore, the winners will be given a scholarship to travel to the United States for a 3 day global summit 09.09.09 - 09.11.09.
The goal for the three day conference is for the young leaders council to finally meet in person, after the 4 month online VIRTUAL CLASSROOM (for more information - go to Contest Curriculum tab). Once the Young Leaders Council gets together, the three day conference will give the chance for the mentors to come together for a series of ACTION FORUMS to make sure the programs are implemented and ready for the CONCERT FOR A NEW WORLD television special, where the general public will come on line to help fund those chosen projects.
During the three day conference there will be times where the Young Leaders Network will be tied into the events through online (World Trust Network), so those who are a part of the young leaders community will be able to participate and support one other.
This four year roll out plan (2009 - 2012) is to continue the contest annually and search for globally conscious youth, until youth from various parts of the world are part of the Young Leaders Council by the end of 2012. Each year following the contest we will provide online mentorship programs, video conferencing sessions with experts in the field, a face to face conference called the YOUNG LEADERS GLOBAL SUMMIT, followed by a concert and television special that invites the global audience to participate in funding the projects the youth have committed to during the course of the year.
The four year rollout enables World Trust to identify global active citizens and give them a vehicle to have their voices heard. Millions of youth will be on the World Trust Network as active community members, while the Young Leaders Council will be the leaders of the youth. All members will have the ability to sign up for project missions, online curriculum and be invited to be a Young Journalist to upload content to the World Trust Wire so that not one person is left out and the youth of the world feel empowered to have a voice on things that matter most.
